BERWYN is a rising star in the music scene. The East London-based rapper, known for his soulful beats and deeply moving verses, was born in Trinidad and moved to the UK aged nine, describing himself as “50% water and 50% music”. His critically-acclaimed debut mixtape DEMOTAPE/VEGA featured on the BBC’s Sound Of 2021 list and was shortlisted for the Hyundai Mercury Prize – although a battle over his immigration status meant it didn’t qualify for the BRITs. That’s an injustice he touches on in his latest album, TAPE 2/FOMALHAUT.
